A survey of revivals throughout history, from Bible days until the present. The course’s aim is to help the student understand the nature of revival and to stir him to seek revival.

Philosophy and Issues in Evangelism

EVN 302 | 2 Credit Hours
The Biblical philosophy of evangelism and the gift of an evangelist. Also, how the Biblical philosophy addresses current issues in evangelism.

The Evangelist’s Work

EVN 401 | 2 Credit Hours
The focus of the evangelist’s work with the development of skills and the understanding of tasks that help him carry out his work. His preparation for revival and for revival meetings, his preparation of materials for promotion and carrying out his work, and his overseeing music in revival meetings.

Evangelistic Preaching

EVN 402 | 2 Credit Hours
The preparation and delivery of effective evangelistic sermons. The development of an introduction that captures the audience’s attention and leads into a sermon body that clearly applies Biblical truth to the hearer and prepares for a fruitful invitation that encourages people to decide for Christ.

Evangelism Internship

EVN 450 | 4 Credit Hours
The student will travel with an approved evangelist for at least 5 weeks to gain experience in the varied responsibilities of an evangelist and receive the mentoring of an experienced evangelist.

History of Civilization I

An overview of Western Civilization from a Christian perspective beginning with the creation of man and continuing through the Protestant Reformation.

History of Civilization II

HTY 102 | 3 Credit Hours
An overview of Western Civilization from a Christian perspective beginning with post-reformation Europe and continuing into the twenty-first century.

United States History I

HTY 201 | 3 Credit Hours
A careful study of the colonial and national development of the United States from Columbus’ arrival in the new world through the Civil War. The course will focus on the social, political, spiritual, and economical factors that led to the formation, growth, and division of the United States.

United States History II

HTY 202 | 3 Credit Hours
A careful study of the national progress of the United States from reconstruction after the Civil War to the present. The course will focus on the various factors that led to the growth of America as a great economic, political, military, and spiritual force in the world.
