Doctrinal Overview
Training Christian leaders for Independent Baptist Ministry
In a world increasingly adrift from God and righteousness, there is a desperate need to remain firmly anchored to the timeless principles of God’s Word. Indiana Baptist College is dedicated to remaining faithful to the old paths and carefully adheres to the following doctrinal principles.
The Scriptures
We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testaments, that the Word of God is preserved forever, and that the Masoretic Text, Textus Receptus, and King James Version of the Bible are the preserved Word of God in their respective languages.
God
We believe that there is only one God in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is found through the new birth in Christ alone.
Baptism
We believe that the ordinance of baptism as commanded by Jesus Christ is by immersion for believers only.
Eternal Security
We believe that from the moment of salvation, the believer’s eternity is secure.
Lord's Supper
We believe that the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper is commanded by Jesus Christ as a memorial.
Creation
We believe that the universe was created in six twenty-four hour days.
The Resurrection
We believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ and His bodily ascension into heaven, where He now intercedes for believers.
End Times
We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of all believers and the pre-millennial return and millennial reign of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Eternity
We believe in the final judgment of unbelievers and the reality of heaven and hell.
The Local Church
We believe the local church is God’s institution to carry out the Great Commission.
The Believer's Responsibility
We believe it is the obligation of every believer to live a holy life and to witness to the lost of the saving power of Christ.
