Student Experience
At Indiana Baptist College our vision is to see young people reach a readiness for leadership in the particular ministry for which God is fashioning them. Different students have different ministry directions, including shepherding a congregation as a pastor, preaching to the lost and stirring God’s people as an evangelist, teaching students in a Christian school or in the home, serving as a missionary on the foreign field, directing a music ministry, teaching a Sunday School class, or training for another aspect of local church ministry.
In order to properly lead, the leader must exhibit the essential qualities of a Christian ministry leader. The events, activities, and programs that impact the student’s experience at IBC have been intentionally structured to cultivate academic excellence, spiritual sensitivity, and edifying relationships with fellow believers. All of this working together serves to produce qualified leaders for local church ministry.
Academic
Indiana Baptist College seeks to accomplish the vision of training Christian leaders by utilizing an educational program that emphasizes educational excellence and is presented by experienced teachers who are now engaged in ministry. The class schedule follows the traditional semester format, along with a number of one-week module classes before and after the spring semester. Classes run each morning during business days and on several afternoons. Evening classes are available on Monday and Tuesday evenings, allowing area pastors and church members to pursue Biblical training around their work schedules.
We offer a one-year program in Biblical Studies and two-year degrees in Biblical Studies, Church Music Ministries, Youth Ministries, Piano Pedagogy, General Studies, Preschool Education, and Church Secretarial. We also offer four year degrees in Biblical Studies, Pastoral Studies, Evangelism, Church Ministries, General Studies, Pastoral and Church Music, Church Music Ministries, Youth and Church Music, Missions, Music Education, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education.

“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”
II Timothy 2:2
Spiritual

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
John 17:3
Social
Our students are socially engaged through many different venues. On at least two evenings of the week, students attend group devotions followed by a low-key activity time, in which, students interact through volleyball, table games, and refreshments. In addition, through the intramural program students build relationships and enjoy comradery through competing in sports, indoor games, and academic competitions. Special banquets during the semester provide another avenue for socializing with fellow students. During free time students use the café, lounge, game room, or other locations around campus to relax and spend time with friends. Throughout their college years IBC students build meaningful relationships that will last for a lifetime in ministry.

“I have always prayed for friends that I could have fun with and that would also be spiritually encouraging. God has definitely answered my prayers through my friends at IBC.””
