Contemporary Theology

An examination of current trends in theology in the light of the Word of God. Major emphasis is given to Fundamentalism, Liberalism, Neo-orthodoxy, Existentialism, and Neo-Evangelicalism.

A thorough examination of the inspiration and preservation of the Bible. A careful assessment of the KJV issues and the history of the English Bible.

Keyboarding

The development of typing techniques with stress on fingering, accuracy, rhythm, and speed. Instruction and practice in machine transcription are included.

Business Math

Mathematical calculation with practice toward the proficient use of calculators. Mathematical principles with emphasis on church business applications including interest, checking accounts, financial records, and payroll.

Business Writing

Instruction and practice in proper communication through letters, memos, and business conversations. Students will learn to effectively plan, prepare, edit, and proofread various types of messages.

Office Practice and Procedures

BUS 112 | 3 Credit Hours
Instruction in the ethics, protocol, etiquette, and demeanor of a church secretary. Instruction in secretarial responsibilities including the establishment and maintenance of a filing system, proper phone procedures, receiving of guests and dignitaries, handling of complaints and emergencies, and interaction with supervisors and coworkers.
